Field Service Technician

Job Description

Manufacturer of industrial batch heat treating furnaces and ovens desires a Field Service Technician to test, start up and troubleshoot equipment in the US and worldwide. Responsibilities include equipment inspection and testing before shipment; equipment start-ups, installation supervision, and training after shipment; equipment and systems troubleshooting both on site and by telephone; warranty repairs; controlled atmosphere gas installation and leak testing.

The Candidate we are seeking will be a skilled Field Technician who: 

  • has demonstrated three to five years of experience servicing heat processing equipment.
  • has a stable employment history
  • has a high commitment to customer service.
  • has a working knowledge of industrial heat processing equipment, temperature control technology, understands PLC controls, industrial electrical, plumbing and mechanical skills, and able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000 or higher is helpful.
  • is willing to travel up to 40-50% including some international travel.
  • can work independently on site with only phone and email support from the factory
  • will work with sales and engineering when not traveling, and be willing to work alongside production occasionally

Furnace Assembler

Job Description

  • Manufacturer of industrial batch heat treating furnaces and ovens desires a Furnace Assembler to assemble furnaces, machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. Responsibilities include planning furnace assembly, close fitting of machined parts using established shop techniques, installation of different types of insulation including insulating firebrick and alumina-silicate fiber materials and installing heating elements and combustion systems onto the furnace body. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required.

The Candidate we are seeking will be a skilled Field Technician who: 

  • Has demonstrated three to five years of experience assembling heat processing equipment, or the equivalent. A background in wooden mold making or cabinet making would be a close equivalent.
  • Has a stable employment history
  • Ideally has a working knowledge of industrial heat processing equipment
  • Knows and understands moving equipment such as shafts, levers and bearings and knows how to work them to test for free movement
  • Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Bends and installs electrical conduit for wiring systems
  • Tests or assist in testing operation of completed systems.
